Thank you for taking the time to read this. My name is Tang Long, and I joined Dandelions in May 2025. In this post, I’d like to share what led me to join Dandelions and my thoughts since becoming part of the team.
The reason I joined the company
I came to Dandelions as a mid-career hire, and interestingly, my previous job was also in the same industry. I first heard about Dandelions through a referral from a sales representative in the same field. When I initially checked out the website, I thought, “Is this a web design company? If so, can I really apply my experience as an IT sales rep who’s mainly worked with business application development engineers?” I was a bit unsure going into the interview, but I was relieved to find out that the company is deeply rooted in development work. What really convinced me to join was that they were looking for someone with experience in partner sales and human networking—areas I’ve been involved in for a long time and want to continue working in. That alignment made me feel confident that this was the right place for me.
My impressions after joining the company
My mission at this company is to strengthen collaboration with partner firms (commonly known as BP sales) and support the development of younger sales team members. As someone considered a veteran in the field, I’ve had a wide range of experiences in sales, but since joining the company, I’ve realized there’s still so much to learn—every day brings new insights. I’ve also been given a fair amount of discretion, which allows me to make timely decisions and has made my work smoother. Since my previous company mainly focused on full-time IT personnel, I had grown a bit distant from partner firms in Nagoya, but now I’ve been able to reconnect with them, and the workflow is starting to feel more solid. Moving forward, I hope to make the most of my experience, support the younger members of the team, and continue to grow in my own sales career.
Professional Introduction
I’m a proud 63-year-old veteran at Dandelions, and a devoted fan of songwriter Shogo Hamada (aka Hamashō). The name “Tang Long,” marked with an asterisk earlier, comes from my favorite Kung Fu star Bruce Lee’s role in the movie Way of the Dragon. I began my career in sales at a computer manufacturer, and I’ve spent about nine years in Tokyo and eight years back in Nagoya working in the IT staffing industry. It’s been roughly 40 years since I first got involved with computers, and lately, I’ve been lamenting the loss of my physical sharpness due to lack of exercise. From my 20s to 40s, I was part of a Chinese martial arts group, training in styles like Bajiquan and Tanglangquan. These days, I’m thinking it might be time to return to training and reclaim that agility I once had.
Hamashō is 72 years old! (As of 2025) This is a photo of the tour truck taken on the first day of his 2023 arena tour at Big Hat in Nagano.A calligraphy piece gifted to me by Master Su Yu-Chang, who guided me in Chinese martial arts. (It conveys the idea that one becomes truly unique upon receiving the secret teachings of martial arts.)
Summary
I’m still a newcomer, now in my fifth month since joining the company. Although I’ve been working in IT sales for about 18 years and feel confident in the role itself, I’m still getting used to the environment and internal rules, which has been a bit of a challenge. My core principles as a sales professional are passion and trust. I hope to continue supporting those I work with by staying true to these values.
Thank you for reading all the way through. That’s all for now. Stay tuned for the next blog post!
Thank you for reading. My name is OZ, and I will be writing this employee introduction article. I will talk about what led me to join Dandelions and my impressions since joining the company.
What led me to join
I first learned about this company at a career fair held at my university. I had always been interested in the IT industry, and while searching for IT-related companies among the many companies participating in the fair, I happened to notice this company. When I spoke with them at their booth, I was attracted not only by the content of their presentation but also by the warmth conveyed by the expressions and manner of speaking of their employees. I decided without hesitation to apply for an internship at this company. During the internship, I had the opportunity to experience actual work while interacting with the employees, and I was strongly drawn to their personalities and the workplace atmosphere. Given my existing interest in the IT industry, the desire to work for this company naturally solidified over time.
Impressions after joining
The first thing I noticed when I joined the company was how supportive everyone was. I started my career as a new graduate with no idea what I was doing, but my seniors guided me patiently, allowing me to take each step forward with confidence. What stands out most in my memory is the programming training. The curriculum covered the basics thoroughly, and there was an atmosphere where I could ask questions whenever I didn’t understand something. Thanks to the guidance tailored to my pace, I was able to deepen my understanding without feeling rushed. Additionally, in the business etiquette training, I learned the basics of being a professional, such as how to handle phone calls, write emails, and exchange business cards. The words of a senior colleague, “Everyone starts as a beginner, so it’s okay,” still serve as a source of encouragement for me. In this supportive environment, I can feel myself growing little by little, and my belief that “joining this company was the right choice” grows stronger each day.
About me
My hobbies include gaming and sports, especially bowling and soccer. Recently, I have been focusing on strength training, with the goal of gaining 5 kg. I also love exploring new ramen restaurants, and when I have time, I enjoy searching for new places to try. Although I am still new to the workforce, I aim to grow by learning new things every day.
One of the best ramen dishes I’ve ever eaten.
That’s all for this time. Stay tuned for the next employee introduction!
Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read this. I’m Hirotomaru from Team 0, and I joined the company in April 2025. I’ll be writing this employee introduction article. I’d like to share about what led me to join Dandelions and my thoughts after joining.
What led me to join
The reason I joined was because my career advisor recommended an internship at Dandelions, and I felt that the company had a really nice atmosphere. I studied programming at university and wanted a job where I could make use of those skills. I attended various company information sessions and internships, and while each had its good points, I eventually became unsure of which company to choose. At that time, my homeroom teacher strongly recommended the Dandelions internship—even saying they’d want to join themselves—so I decided to participate. When I actually joined the internship, I was struck by how warm and welcoming everyone was and how there were people with all kinds of values and perspectives. From that experience, I thought, “It seems like it would be fun to work here,” and decided to apply to Dandelions.
Impressions after joining
It’s been about three months since I joined, and I’m still in training. Whenever I have questions, my seniors quickly help me out, and I’m also having a great time with my fellow new employees—overall, it feels like a really good environment. Before joining, I was worried that the reality of the job might be totally different from what I had imagined, but thankfully, that wasn’t the case and I feel relieved. Right now, I’m studying JAVA, SQL, and business etiquette. There have been times I was confused by unfamiliar tools and programming languages, but I’ve gradually started to understand them. As for polite speech and manners, I didn’t have much practice with them, so I was really nervous at first when handling phone calls or greeting visitors—it was tough and didn’t go well in the beginning. I still feel a bit anxious about whether I’ll be able to handle actual work properly, but I’m determined to do my best.
About me
My hobbies are playing games and watching anime. Also, I like eating sweets. Among sweets, I especially love gummy candy and often buy and eat them. My favorite is Haribo—I even buy the big box and keep it stocked. I often bring snacks from home and eat them during breaks in training to refresh myself.
That’s all for this time. Please look forward to the next employee introduction!
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Nice to meet you!! I’m “Ryu-chan,” and I joined the company this year!!
I’m originally from Nagoya City in Aichi Prefecture, and before joining the company, I studied programming at a vocational school.
Why I Joined the Company
Back when I was a student, I aspired to become a police officer. As I studied, I became particularly interested in cybercrime and wanted to become a cybercrime investigator. That led me to enroll in a vocational school where I could study IT. At first, I had no experience with computers—I didn’t even know how to open a file. There were times when I felt discouraged, but as I studied a wide range of topics like security, databases, and website development, I developed an interest in working in the web industry. While searching for a web-related company, I attended a company information session at school and became interested in Dandelions Co., Ltd., which led to my decision to join.
My Impressions After Joining
It has now been two months since I joined, and I’ve learned many things, including professional etiquette, programming, and networking. At first, I was extremely nervous and unsure if I could make it as a working adult. However, the company atmosphere is very positive, and everyone is kind and quick to help when I’m in trouble. My three fellow new hires are also wonderful people. Even when we run into things we don’t understand during training, we work together as a group of four to support each other and grow together. Since the company also has many foreign employees, I feel it’s a great environment where I can experience diverse cultures. I’m truly glad I joined Dandelions Co., Ltd. Although there’s still a lot I can’t do yet, I’ll keep giving it my all and strive to become someone others can rely on.
About Me
My hobby is snowboarding! What I love about snowboarding is the beautiful scenery after getting off the lift or gondola—no matter how many times I see it, I’m always moved by how stunning it is. Every winter, I go to various ski resorts with friends and spend long days snowboarding—from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. on longer days. This March, I went to Teine Ski Resort in Hokkaido for our graduation trip. Compared to the ski resorts I usually go to in Gifu or Nagano, the snow quality was amazing, and I had a great time!
Teine Ski Resort
Conclusion Right now, I’m studying hard to earn the IT Passport certification. (I’m determined to pass it during training!) I study for about two and a half hours at the office and at least one hour at home every day. There are still many things I don’t understand, and I know I lack technical knowledge in some areas, but I want to take the initiative to learn and do my best so I can keep up with my seniors. Thankfully, I’m in an environment where my managers and seniors are always willing to teach me carefully, which makes things much easier. I’ll continue working hard so I can grow into someone who can lead Dandelions Co., Ltd. into the future!
That’s all for now. Please look forward to the next employee introduction!
Thank you for taking the time to read this! Nice to meet you. I’m Pudding, and I joined the company in April 2025! Today, I’d like to share how I came to join Dandelions and what led me here.
Why I Joined the Company I attended an IT vocational school in Nagoya for four years. Initially, I was in the white-hacker track and focused on studying cybersecurity. However, as I was exposed to various fields through my classes, I started thinking, “I don’t just want to study security — I want to be able to build systems and design as well!” From there, my interests expanded to web system development and web design. I chose additional classes and began studying those areas.
When I started my job search, I wanted to put what I had learned into practice, so I focused on companies related to web systems. With help from my school, I joined an internship at Dandelions. The company had a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and since there were many employees from overseas, I found the different cultures and perspectives very interesting. That’s when I thought, “I definitely want to work here!” — and that was the turning point.
My Impressions After Joining I’ve just joined and am currently in training. We’re not only learning technical skills and preparing for IT certifications, but also receiving thorough guidance on business manners and how to communicate across cultures. That said, as a new graduate, I still struggle with things like manners and often make mistakes. I’m doing my best every day to get used to everything quickly.
There are many people from different countries at the company, and since I’ve never been in such an environment before, it all feels very new. It’s fun discovering different cultures and ways of communicating every day. I hope to continue interacting with everyone and learning as much as I can!
About Me I’m from Tajimi City in Gifu Prefecture. Some of you may know it’s famous for being a very hot town. Have you heard of “Unagappa,” the city’s mascot? Tajimi is known for its eel dishes, and Unagappa is a character that combines an eel and a kappa (a mythical river creature). The character was actually designed by none other than Takashi Yanase, the creator of the famous “Anpanman” series! It’s quite cute and I’ve grown fond of it, so please look it up if you’re interested.
Also, I absolutely love Disney! Whenever I have time, I like to visit the parks, watch movies, or buy Disney merchandise. I haven’t had a chance to visit since joining the company, so I’m hoping to go sometime around autumn.
Thank you so much for reading this far! That’s all for now. Please look forward to the next employee introduction!
